In view of the war in Ukraine, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz put it clearly: In the future, transport planning in Europe must be geared much more strongly to a globally strategic level. In a global world, many economic and cultural dependencies have arisen, which depend on open transport corridors. At the same time, life on earth is still characterized by great disparities in wealth and access to mobility. With regard to the living conditions of the people on this earth, we must take different mobility affinities into account.
In the seminar, a GIS analysis is used to map the existing spatially determined mobility cultures and to make accessibility gaps visible. Based on this analysis, the seminar participants will develop initial ideas on a global scale.
To present the results of the seminar, a joint power point presentation with written elaboration (GIS work) will be created. The work can be done as an individual performance or small group work (2 persons).
The seminar will be held bilingually (German, English). Basic knowledge of instruments and procedures of transport development planning is required.
