The course
provides an introduction into applied empirical research methods in
environmental economics. In the first part of the course, students will acquire
a fundamental knowledge of key concepts in applied research methods. They will
learn i.e. how to process scientific literature, how to summarize existing
knowledge in a structured literature review and how to critically evaluate various
types of research designs. In addition, students will gain a solid
understanding of the fundamentals of impact evaluation methods. In the second
part of the course, students will apply these skills to present and discuss
selected scientific topics in environmental economics and embed their work in
the scientific discourse.
