Feedback is of utmost importance when it comes to productive, effective and self-regulated learning. High-quality feedback promotes students’ engagement in learning processes and enhances their performance in and outside the classroom. Consequently, teachers need to practice and acquire various feedback skills. In this seminar, we will first talk about different models and types of feedback and discuss criteria for constructive feedback on writing assignments and then direct our attention to screen capture feedback technology which enables EFL teachers to provide multimodal feedback by recording the teacher’s screen and voice while commenting on a student’s written work.

Theoretical knowledge will, of course, constantly be linked to practical issues of classroom teaching. In order to work with authentic written texts, there will be a cooperation with teachers and students from Jacob-Grimm-Schule here in Kassel.
