Education systems vary greatly and not just in the extent to which they are centralized. One can also detect vast differences when it comes to subjects taught, teaching methods, grading systems, costs, extracurricular activities and safety measures, just to name a few.

In this course, we will thoroughly examine the school systems in the USA, Germany, Australia and Great Britain. This means, of course, not just looking at the major differences and similarities but also discussing which ideas/concepts should be borrowed from each other to make teaching and learning even more effective and advantageous for everyone involved.

Theoretical knowledge will, of course, constantly be linked to practical issues of classroom teaching.
