This course will allow participants to explore various perspectives on autism with other cognitive, behavioral, and developmental differences. We will discuss these differences as forms of neurodiversity and disability. In addition to the two main disability models (medical and social), various other models of disability will be introduced and examined as they specifically relate to concepts of neurodiversity. While the ideology surrounding neurodiversity and identity in English universities becomes more subjective, we will aim for an informed and objective position of reason and neutrality on this form of human diversity.

Although this course will be offered through Zoom, we may also meet on campus occasionally during the semester for students who would like to meet in-person.
