The aim of this course is to discuss method in the social sciences from a critical perspective. In the early weeks of the course, concepts such as the research process as a whole, the importance of theory and method in the social sciences, the importance of epistemology and ontology in critical scientific knowledge production, research design and the research question will be discussed.

In the later stages of the course, topics such as qualitative methods in the social sciences, case studies and comparative studies, action research, discourse analysis, quantitative research methods will be discussed.
