General information to this Compulsory elective module:

Goals:

- Acquisition of basic knowledge from the research areas of detection of biomolecules within neuronal circuits, hormone system, cell communication, information processing; function of neuropeptides and biogenic amines, classical neurotransmitters and receptors in the brain of insects and mammals.

- Critical and independent development of a seminar topic from the fields of neurophysiology, neurochemistry and neuroethology in English; from original English literature it will be analyzed which scientific question was addressed with which techniques; it will be critically questioned whether the methods were adequate, the reported results correctly analyzed and interpreted, and whether the conclusions are justified. In addition to a clear and understandable, presentation of the scientific paper, special emphasis is placed on the formal criteria of presentation techniques. The aim is also to learn to give presentation in an understandable, convincing and competent manner.
