This course will enable the participants to delve deep into the topic of creating and working with research portfolios, including aspects of video transcription, data preparation and anonymization, qualitative data analysis, as well as discussing and interpreting the research results. Additionally, the course will deal with several key aspects of data analysis and further provide workshops on video transcription software and the qualitative research software MAXQDA. All students will work in pairs on their respective research portfolios and will be provided with data sets, wide-ranging research guidelines, and continuous feedback in a collaborative discourse. The content of the portfolios is closely linked to Prof. Dr. Finkbeiner and Dr. Olson’s CoGI project, but the course is open to everyone who is interested in learning more about qualitative research methods and processes in the context of intercultural communication and online group cooperation.
