After successfully completing this course, students are expected to

a) gain an overview of sustainable materials development and the approaches towards the sustainabilities of metals;

b) be equipped with the knowledge with a holistic view of the link of chemistry – microstructure/nanostructure – process – property – performance – integration – circularity in novel sustainable materials development; acquire the knowledge of design, characterization, optimization, and application of sustainable materials with case studies, particularly with a focus on hydrogen energy and circular metals.
